Happy Daddy's Day!
Dear Daddy,
Thank you for learning how to put our hair in ponytails and how to play dolls. Thank you for showing us how to work hard and yet still have a lot of fun. After watching how well you treat mommy, we know what to expect from our own husbands someday. And thank you especially a whole bunch for protecting us and keeping us safe. We love you!

A Letter From Kate
Dear Mema and Papa,
We have been very busy over here in Buckley. Wanna see what we've been up to? :)
Daddy has been busy in the garage organizing/sorting garage sale items and getting our camping supplies ready. We like to be with him so we find ways to stay busy. Here I am trying to ride Ellie's scooter. Oops!..I guess Daddy doesn't get as much done when we are around!
Mommy always says that 4 o'clock is "witching hour" at our house. We don't know what she means by this but we like it because she always takes us outside into the park behind our house and lets us play in the rocks. This is one of our favorite things to do and it keeps us very busy and happy until the witches go away. :)
Oh Papa! Guess what? We made fried bread with cinnamon and sugar like GiGi used to make for you when you were a kid! Actually, Mommy and Ellie made the bread but I was very helpful as the taste tester. :)
We love to be home but we also love it when Mommy takes us places. This is a picture of Ellie at our favorite little book shop. Mommy told Ellie she could pick out one book to buy. Ellie spent a long time looking at the hundreds of choices and came up with a real good one. Mommy laughed so hard when she saw the title. She told Ellie she wanted to take a picture of her choice because Daddy would never believe it. I didn't know what that meant but Ellie got to keep the book so it must have been a good thing. :)
Then Ellie had her last day of soccer practice. Mommy said she is getting really good but I don't know because I never watch her. I am too busy eating or wandering into the middle of the opposite field. Anyway, it was a great day because it was really sunny and Ellie got a special certificate. I was very proud of her!

This is me chillin' on our blanket. I ended up eating all of those blueberries. Let me tell you, keeping these cheeks chubby is harder than it looks!
The sun stuck around a bit longer so the next day we went to the zoo. Have you been there? It's amazing! All the animals mommy shows me in my books actually live there! I liked seeing the peacock and the elephants the best. Here I am in front of the zoo. Pretty darn adorable, huh?

OK, OK, so I passed out in the backpack. I couldn't help it! We stayed through my nap time and you know how I am about getting my sleep! I think I missed the clouded leopards and the tiger but that's OK, we will be at the zoo a lot this summer so I'll see them again! When we got home, we got into our jammies and just lounged around the house. As you can see, Jaxie decided to join us. She is very good at lounging.
Daddy had the night off a couple nights ago and he made a fire in the fire pit so we could roast marshmallows and make smores. And by we, I mean everyone but me. My bedtime is 6:30 so I missed all the fun. Oh well. I'm sure I'll join them soon enough. In the meantime, I need to teach Ellie how to eat her food without getting it in her hair! Oh wait, never mind. I don't know how to do that either. Bummer.
Well, that is all for now. I love you and can't wait to see you soon! Trust me, you are going to love me even more when you see me! I guess my cute toes and chubby legs and squishy cheeks are "delicious." At least, that's what Mommy keeps saying over and over again!
Bye for now,
Kate
