Videos Are Back!
The first time I shared a video on this blog was in 2007. Ellie had just received her new rug for her room and we recorded her excitement as she danced her little heart out. It's been awhile since I posted any videos and I have never posted one of Kate so here you go! There is nothing super exciting about this video from any perspective other than mine or Dan's but I am just trying out You Tube to see if I've got the hang of it. Enjoy!

Happy Memorial Day!
This is my attempt at getting a picture of both girls today! We played at home, took the girls in the bike trailer for a short ride, and roasted smores. Memorial Day weekend is a busy one for Dan at work so it is usually low key fun for us at home but we had a really restful and good time in our own backyard! Thank you to all who have served/serve in our military! We are forever grateful!

Movie Date With Mama
Ellie and I went to see the movie Rio today. It was a special day for Ellie because we almost never go to the movies and because it was just me and her AND because she insisted we both dress up in dresses! She is so girly! Love her!
As for Kate and Daddy, they stayed home and napped and played on the swings. Kate is really starting to imitate Ellie which can be a bit unnerving when Ellie is making dolphin noises but still, we are so proud. :) She has a few words she loves to repeat: mama, dada, Eda (pronounced Aye-duh...this means Ellie), hi, cracker, all done, moo, and a couple others that shamefully, Mommy can't think of at this moment. She also LOVES to sign these words: more, eat, please, bath, no, thank you, milk, dog, and bye bye. Kate sings A LOT but the only two songs we can make out for sure are Ten in the Bed (she sings the "Roll Over" part) and Go Go Go! (from Cat in the Hat cartoon). She is bold, willful, smart, and a dancing fool. She loves to eat, sleep, snuggle, and knows how to play coy perfectly. And I have just learned that she loves the windows down in the car and the more breeze in her face, the better.
Honestly, one of the best parts of raising children is watching them grow into who they will become. It's a surprise, a gift, and a challenge to just observe and respect them as little individuals (of course all the while trying to guide them to a life of goodness, respect, and love). And it fills us up. Days, weeks go by and Dan and I are so busy with our little ones growing in front of our eyes. I don't think we are ever bored and yet every day is fairly simple and consistent (I would say uneventful but most of you know that there is nothing uneventful about raising kids!). I am exhausted every night but every morning I am more than excited to wake up to cheerios, cartoons, and our pajama-clad girls and do it all over again. :)
