The Big 29

My mom was right...29 is a good number! I am officially 29 years old and taking stock of my life I must admit, things look pretty good. In case you haven't noticed from this blog, I have the most ADORABLE little girl who is bright, silly, observant, articulate, and full of personality. I have a very handsome husband who is dedicated, caring, selfless, funny, humble and a perfect father. I even have a faithful and snugly dog, Jaxie. I am surrounded by awesome friends, neighbors (who are now friends), and a very loving and supportive family. I went to Bellingham this weekend and as I looked on at the younger twenty-somethings, I did not feel an ounce of envy. It really is good to be 29!
Here are some snapshots from my 29th birthday: Good Morning Mama! Happy Birthday! Here is your card from me!
Thank you Elizabeth, Tyler, Riley, Claire, Doug, Dan and Ellie for a GREAT 29th birthday!

Easter 2009

We had a wonderful Easter weekend this year. I say Easter weekend and not Easter day because we truly celebrated for several days! Here is a recap:
Friday, Ellie and I went to a little Easter play date. We had a great time and then came home to dye Easter eggs with Dan. On Saturday, we went to a 10am egg hunt at a local park. Our friends Gabby and Sawyer and their families joined us, along with Auntie Tara, Nana and Papa Jerry. Anyone who has ever been to a toddler Easter egg hunt knows it is more like a 50 yard dash! It started at 10:00 and was over at 10:02! :) Ellie was so stinkin' adorable...she was so focused and determined to get the pink eggs.

Then we returned home for brunch with friends/family. After Ellie's nap, I ran up the street to ANOTHER egg hunt (we made it with 1 minute to spare) and let Ellie pick up a few more eggs. Then we went back home for BBQ with friends/family AGAIN! What a busy but super fun day. Ellie spent the whole day with Sawyer and Gabby so she had a blast! If only cousin Olivia could have joined her! Ellie missed her a bunch and saved a special chocolate bunny just for her. Easter morning, Ellie woke up and had to find her hidden basket (under the kitchen table). She had so much fun looking over each item. I think the Hello Kitty stuff was her favorite. Then we were off to church, home for nap, and then to Nana and Papa's for a yummy ham dinner. What a fun-filled weekend!
a little love for new bunny
look at our little girl all grown up! I'm two years old! loves for auntie hunting for eggs at Nana and Papa's house
I don't know, looking at these pictures, do you think she had fun this weekend? :) Love to All, Angela

Many Faces

Ellie LOVES to dress up. In fact, she now changes her clothes several times a day and then parades around the house twirling and posing. We have mirrors on all the closet doors so I don't think this is helping. I took a few pictures today to show you the many faces of Ellie that we get when she plays dress up:
sweet and joyful
tough cookie (The first and only in the family to get a tattoo...we are so proud.)
demure
I have no idea about this one!
Ellie also went to an Easter party today. OF COURSE she dressed up there too...

Needless to say, it is fun to watch Ellie try out all facets of her personality. When she was a baby, she was just innocent. As a toddler, she has been mostly adorable and funny. Recently, she has been a little of everything! It is DEFINITELY keeping us on our toes but I love that she has a strong sense of self. Whatever the mood, she brings a lot of joy and life to our world. I can't imagine mine without her. -Angela

Busy Weekend

The sunshine sure brings out the fun around our house! We had great weather and great fun this weekend and I actually remembered my camera to capture it all. On Friday, Ellie hosted a little get-together for all her friends. The kids had a great time playing dress-up and we even had a mini fashion show set to music. Here are some pictures of our little Cat walkers...
Gabriella, Joey, Mary, Ellie, Addison, and Sawyer (not in photo) Group hug...Ellie's friends sure do love her as much as she loves them!
Saturday we took Ellie to the track again. I ran while Dan and Ellie played soccer on the field. She is pretty good, I must say. She can kick the ball far and control it while she runs. I was very impressed! Later, our friends Bob and Rosanna invited us and our neighbors over for some BBQ. The kids kept themselves busy so I was able to enjoy a margarita...or three. :) But today proved to be the most exciting of the three days (well, not for Dan who helped our neighbor put in a sprinkler system). I took Ellie to the Cinderella Ballet in Renton (thanks Nana and Papa for the tickets!). What an AWESOME experience! Ellie got all dressed up the way she wanted: Cinderella t-shirt with pink sparkly dress, Fancy Nancy foofy ballet slippers, Cinderella undies, and a girly twirly hair ribbon that went all the way to her toes! She was so cute. The ballet started at nap time so I wasn't sure how she would do but she stayed awake the whole time and was totally mesmerized. Ellie really liked intermission too because I let her get some special treats at the concessions table. I know she enjoyed herself because when we left she said, "Mama, I LOVE Cinderella and I LOVE the ballet and I LOVE you." :) You can imagine how that made my day. :)
First tickets to the ballet...she is such a big girl!
we had GREAT seats right in front! TOTALLY EXHAUSTED!
She slept the whole way home and then we went to our neighbors' house for dinner. All in all, it was a very sunny and fun-filled weekend. We have lots more planned this month (April is always busy for us) so check the blog regularly to see what we are up to! Later, Ang
